Best Price GuaranteeExperience a true Polynesian tradition at the Maui Nui Luau in the shadow of the world-famous Black Rock at the Sheraton Kaanapali. Included in this luau is a full spread of Polynesian cuisine including Kailua pork, ahi poke, poi, teriyaki steak, and much more! A full open bar with all of the island’s favorite adult beverages is also right at your fingertips. So sit back with a cocktail and enjoy the show!
Located center court in the beautiful Sheraton Maui Hotel & Spa the Maui Nui Luau has the best sunsets of any luau in Kaanapali. With a low hedgerow separating the luau grounds from the beach path, the Sheraton Luau has an open space concept creating an atmosphere that is fresh and alluring. Your Maui luau begins when hosts greet you, then escort you to your table. In the tradition of Hawaiian culture, ancient games from the past are laid out on the grounds and you can test your skills. There are several to enjoy. Poi balls and spear throwing are the most popular.
With the echo of the Conch Shell, the torches are lit and the cliff divers at Black Rock signal the opening ceremonies with the arrival of your host for the evening. Under the direction of Barry Kim, an evening of magic unfolds as the hula dancers tell the story of Hawaii from the ancient pre-contact era to the modern hula. Your journey through the history of Hawaii is both magical and entertaining.
Watch enchanting hula dancing that spans all the island chains that represent the culture of Polynesia. Attired in authentic handmade costumes from each island group the hula dancers weave a story of magic surrounding the myths, legends, and history of how Hawaii came to be. The Samoan fire-knife dance is a dramatic finale to the show!
Seating arrangements at the Sheraton Kaanapali Maui Nui Luau Sheraton Luau are different than any other luau in Kaanapali. Moving away from the traditional regimental (long tables) style seating, the Sheraton has round tables. Each table can seat 9 guests. Regardless of the seating style, seats are first come, first serve and you’ll want to sit facing the stage. In order to secure these seats, you should arrive early. You may wait in line a little longer, but the tradeoff is well worth the wait!
Long ago, when Kaanapali was just beginning to develop, the Sheraton was the one and only luau in Kaanapali. The beach was wider, there were beachfront properties that were still vacant, and The Whaler was brand spanking new. My how times have changed! But through all those years the Sheraton has remained one of the top luaus in Maui.
The Sheraton Maui Nui Luau is the smallest in Kaanapali in terms of the overall guest count. The menu at the Maui Nui Luau is simple, yet diverse. The quality lives up to the standard you would expect from the Sheraton Hotel. Below is a sample of what you can expect to see on the buffet tables.
