A Unique Luau Experience on Maui

Pele, the goddess of fire is described as one who came prior to the arrival of the Polynesians, paving the way with her lava so there would be land sufficient for the Hawaiians to live. Lilinoe, the goddess of the mist was said to linger above sending cool rains to nourish the lands.

The mermaid of Maui, Kananaka, swooned near the surfers and tried to capture them for fun. The dance of Naulu is a love story – the goddess of the clouds could only visit her lover Kanaloa in the uplands that embraced the clouds of Ulupalakua.

These stories of ancient Hawaii create an exciting evening of traditional chant and hula that bring the history of Maui to life. Enjoy an evening of magical enchantment at Honua’ula and discover the culture, history, and legends Hawaii.

Low rent. Run down grounds where the actual luau is located. Poor stage placement. You have this beautiful coastline and mountain view, but you have your back to all of that. For $130 a ticket, it should be upscale, right? It's not. Additionally, I would not have ate the food they had @ the this luau for free (steak poor quality, and severely overbooked (well done). Also, it's a tourist trap. I hate that. You're in a location for a fixed amount of time and they have all these vendors selling their trinkets. Tacky.

All and all would not recommend. These review are important because you're on vacation, right? You have a limited amount of time that you're here in Maui. Don't waste it on this luau.

I recommend the luau @ the Marriott. Very nice, upscale.

One sprinkle of rain, the herd you into a banquet hall where they have made zero effort and won’t give you your money back. Joke is an understatement. It was beautiful out and they made no effort just crammed everyone in a disgusting banquet room

Really commercial and food just ok. Ive been cooking 25years and this was as generic a menu as a tourist can expect. Flame guy dropped his flame 3 times and performance was kiddy like in every way. Great if your 10 years old i guess. Ill go to no more of these. One and done. Thank goodness .
