To take part in the Activities, individuals must meet the following criteria: a minimum age of 15 years and a height of at least 4’10”. Please note that expecting mothers and individuals weighing above 290 lbs are not eligible to participate. Moreover, participants should possess competent biking skills and wear long pants and shoes.
Cancellation Policy
A minimum notice period of 5 days is necessary for refund requests, except in cases where a medical note from a local doctor is provided. Full charges will be incurred for “no-shows”. Cancellations due to weather conditions by Mountain Riders will be eligible for a 100% refund.
Tips for Your Maui Day Bike Tour
When you reach an altitude of 10,000 feet around 5:00 a.m., it can get quite chilly. That’s why it’s recommended to dress in layers. While the Mountain Riders provide windbreaker pants, a jacket, gloves, and a helmet from Columbia Sportswear, you may not need all of them during the descent down the mountain. So, be prepared and adjust your clothing accordingly.

My wife and I had a great time on their Sunrise Tour! We came prepared and were still cold for the sunrise. We took turns stepping away from the railing and that helped a lot, as soon as you are 10ft back the wind isn't as strong and you can warm up some. You can also go back into the bus for a bit if you want, though we didn't decide to do that.As for the biking part, WOW! It was really incredible biking down the mountain and looking out over most of Maui. It was 95% downhill coasting so we got to enjoy the scenery without putting much effort into pedaling. Excellent tour and guides! Pops makes the whole trip fun and safe while also providing great history about the area. The scenery speaks for itself but there are a lot of little towns along the way to shop and grab something to eat as you come down the mountain. Ending the trip at the beach in Paia is a nice touch. We signed up for the express self guided tour but ended up travelling up to the starting point in a van with a guided tour. Our guides, Alika and Dante, were awesome! We had a blast during the drive and got started off on the right foot. Alika had tons of cool facts and stories about the area mixed in with some hilarious jokes. We ended up doing the tour on our own and we so much fun touring down the crater. The views were breathtaking and it was an easy tour to follow. Would totally do this experience again and would recommend it to friends. Bikes and helmets were in good condition. We very much appreciated the upgraded bike seats too 😊

It was an experience you can brag about.These guys are great. Pick you up at your hotel. Drive you there. Give you coffee. I couldn't figure out "why so early" - but we got up there for some INCREDIBLE star gazing... and we were before all the other people and had a place out of the bitter wind. Thanks to our guide (Bobbie). Great sunrise experience. They were able to help Nancy get confident of riding a bike again. They stopped to let us take some memorable pictures. They stopped for breakfast... ya gotta love that.I wasn't a good fit for their "one size fits all" bikes. If you jack the seat up as high as you go... you're a bit unbalanced. (I'm 6'5" at 135lbs) - so it made it a bit discomforting.Then, drive us back to our hotels. Great service. If you're ladies aren't offended by the vulgar language... you'll be okay. I don't know if they'd clean up the language at all if you had younger folks with you. Could have used more discretion with the mouth is all.3 stars for me (re the bike size)4 for the entire trip (despite the language)Don't forget to dress warmly for the top. Smart people brought blankets with them.

This was my second tour but the first one with Mountain Riders. They arrived at the villa on time and enthusiastic considering a 345am pick up. The drivers were fun and engaging but also focused on safety. Unlike some of the other reviews here our experience (6 people) was great! They worked hard making sure everyone was comfortable and safe. They mentioned that if anyone was not comfortable at anytime they would be happy to have them ride in the tailing van. I also think it's the customer's responsibility to bring a jacket or wear clothes according to the weather and altitude. To note they did provide heavier jackets as a courtesy - really thoughtful. Our guide (Matt) and driver (Eric) did a great job along the ride. We stopped and had several photo ops while making them fun and creative with the bikes. Overall, we really enjoyed this excursion and the best part was we were done before 11am! Plenty of time to do other things for rest of the day. PS don't forget to tip your guides! I noticed several customer's not tipping them and it's not cool!
