Molokini Crater

Whether you’re touring Maui or living here, if you haven’t experienced the underwater beauty of Molokini Crater, then you just ain’t done! Located between Maui and Kaho’olawe in the Alalakeiki Channel, Molokini is a partially submerged volcanic crater that forms a small crescent-shaped islet. This is a protected ocean and bird life sanctuary that is known for its crystal clear water that allows for visibility of its reef as deep as 40-160 feet. Molokini crater is home to approximately 250 to 260 marine species and is a Must-Do activity while visiting or living in Maui.

Diving and snorkeling are classic activities when visiting Molokini Crater, but even if you’re not quite ready for scuba diving, tour boats provide plenty of opportunities for sightseeing as well.
